SSHRC funding proposals

While neither of my funding applications to the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council was successful in achieving the stated objective of receiving funding for my PhD research, the process of writing and editing these proposals was valuable to my thinking about potential research plans. By completing these applications, I was bound by the structure of the document and the timelines for submission. My ability to write for future project proposals for academic funding has evolved as a result of this PhD scholarly task.

SSHRC funding proposals include a two page research proposal, a five page research bibliography, an updated curriculum vitae (CV), and letters of endorsement. Since my current CV is already posted in this portfolio (see My CV), I will post the research proposal and bibliography documents for both the 2018 and 2019 applications here. The letters of endorsement will not be shared publicly since they are confidential in nature and written by others, so bound by privacy regulation. By revisiting and reexamining these proposals and bibliographies, I notice changes in the following:
