USB - glossary item

Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a standardized computer hardware format for attaching external items such as keyboards, external storage drives, or printers to a computer or laptop. USB ports, cords, and devices became standardized in the 1990s and are named with letters or numbers to indicate the socket type and speed.
